Major Project 1 $6000-8000

Shree Majhi Primary School, Nawalparsiis in the Terai flat lands of Nepal. Our goal is to provide the staff and students with resources that will educate and enhance their lives. There are approximately 70 children in this school all of which live a basic quality of life with little educational nourishment. We will be working with one of the lowest caste people of Nepal. A complete list of supplies can be given on request. But some of the item are but not limited to:

Building a toilet, painting the inside of the building, supplying two computers fully loaded with educational curriculum, covering the outside water tank ( very dirty water with no cover), fans for the classroom, books, carpets, a bell, clocks, posters, complete uniforms for all children including shoes. Playground equipment, jump ropes, a slide and swings. We also intend to have a medical camp that will facilitate the children and their families ( about 250 people) at the nearby facility ( church).

Medications, for the medical camp, will be provided at cost from Pharmacist Pramod Sagar” Tamang that CFH put thru college a few years ago. He now has a successful pharmacy, well equipped for his community ( equipment also supplied by CFH) to have good medical care. Sagar supplied all  medicines for our medical camp where we had a doctor, two nurses and two interpreters and a full pharmacy, for over 150 people in Babare, Nepal in 2018.

Project 2: $1000 sewing machines for women – 10 Suzuki sewing machines. These sewing machines are non electric. This is in a small area in Kathmandu.

Project 3: Large Goats of breeding quality $45-75 (10) and  Water Buffalow at $400 each (2)  we have found in the past that providing women ( particularly widows) who are very poor with a few animals to breed do very well in creating small businesses by selling the offspring.  Each animal can bring sufficient income to these poor women. Last year we provided pregnant goat ( 2 each) to 6 widows.  They have done very well in this breeding program.

Project 4: $3000 A local church is a community center built a few years ago in conjunction with the village and CFH is about 300 yards down from Shree Majhi Primary School. The building/church is in need of the following: glass for windows and shutters (currently just bars ) , a toilet and septic tank, 2 guitars, wooden speakers stand, paint of interior walls, curtains, a hand water pump and cement area , several fans, cushions and curtains for the interior. We wish to paint also inside and out.

There are several other smaller projects to be done.  A complete list is available if you write a request.

We have three students also that need educational assistance in private schools.

Srijana Lamichhane passed her admittance exams and was accepted to Chakrabarti Abi College of law. This young lady will graduate in 5 years to practice law in Nepal ( after passing her Bar). Her support for the next 5 years will about $800 a year as this is the state school. She is a lovely young lady in every way. She is a wonderful young lady full of potential.

Dani Khadka is eight years old and in the second grade. He has suffered many health problems in the last few years with a form of cellulitis and mouth sores ( herpes) that the Nepali medical community refuse to treat with anti viral medications. I personally took him to the “best” hospital and was told they do not treat children with antiviral medications. He is on the mend and although he has missed much school he has achieved high marks in both scholastics and in behavior. To allow him to continue an excellent educational opportunity he needs $50 per month .

David Khadka is in 10thgrade. In Nepal the last year of High School is 10.grade. This is the way they keep the poorer families uneducated as the next two years of school are costly for the average Nepali family. Next year he will attend a private +2 school at a cost of around $1500 a year.He is a Star Basketball player for his school for the last few years and is student who gives it his all by taking extra tutoring classes at 5am in each morning- followed up by basketball practice- then home for a meal and then to his school by 9am. After school he is in Basketball practice for a few hours or in a game…home again to study and fall into bed exhausted.  He wishes a career in Hotel Management. This is the son of the family I live with while in Nepal. He is a wonderful young man.
