October/November 2025

October/November 2025 – 22nd trips celebrating the glorious work God has allowed me to do for 20 years.

Although I was unable to go to the villages due to flooding and rain I was blessed with a time of fellowship and teaching.
The morning after I arrived, I was whisked away to a rural area of Kathmandu to attend the grand opening of the church CFH helped to build by suppling the windows and roofs. As said previously, the people had begged to have a home church.  The land was donated; members of Prashansa church labored along with others of the community to take care of building. The building is fantastic for that area, and a wonderful meal was supplied after the service…and to my surprise a western toilet! 50 were expected and over 100 came.

Following I was able to attend the 50th anniversary of the Bible Society.  The bible has only been in Nepal for 50 years was astonishing to me. Both English and Nepali were used and I was thrilled to hear the testimonies of many.  I was tapped on the shoulder twice and was so surprised that a young student I had in ESL classes remembered me from years ago. The second tap was a man I worked with at an orphanage when I began this in 2005. Over 1500 were in attendance and there too was a wonderful meal.

Next, I taught a women class on friendship based on Biblical truth.  It was a joyous time and even I was shocked at how much the Bible teaches on friendships.  What was to be a 15 min class lasted over an hour with the ladies asking for more.

A woman’s fellowship followed with a day of praise and worship- they came to overfill the building- 100 women were expected and over 300 came.  A testimony of the love of these women. Of course there was a meal afterward and I was taken away first so this old grandma could be fed.

The last commitment I made for 2025 was to roof the inside of classrooms with insulating materials for Orchid Garden Nepal- run by Bina Basnet- a wonderful woman whom I have worked with for 8 years now. The rooms become a furnace in the summers, and the need to insulate is paramount.

Updates in the next few months for blanket distributions, radio station news, warm clothing for the poor at Shree Majhi Basic School ( we have supported many times over the years), painting the toilets and shower room in Kalitar and so much more.

There were many meals and many visits by people whom CFH has worked with in the past.  Many days were spent talking to kids and laughing hysterically as we played Farkle and Connects.

Thank you everyone who participated in the work that continues in Nepal.  As I reach my 74th birthday in March I pray I can continue…please pray for me.

Be blessed at you bless others.

October 2025 From the Top of the World

The rains came so hard that all projects in the villages were cancelled.  ChangeforHope will finish these project after the first of the year which includes:
  • Painting of the toilet and shower rooms ( male and female toilet and one shower room) the building now has stucco and awaits its paint.
  • A Wheelchair for a handicapped man in a village
  • 100 blankets delivered to a rural village that is on the way to Kalikatar
  • 10 goats to widows
  • The building of a toilet in Gorka
  • Backpacks for a rural school.
I was able to attend the opening of a Church that CFH helped with the windows/roof and doors. It was also a blessing to attend the 50th anniversay of the Bible Society in Nepal and to teach a womens group on Friendships. I was able to distribute books while there too.

The work continues as there are many projects for 2026…..

September 2025 – From the Top of the World

September 2025 Update

In the month of August we started building a church in the rural part of Kathmandu.   One of the believers in this area ( and others) walked miles to the nearest church and begged Kathmandu Prashansa Church to give them a home church.  Now in partnership we have the funds.  Prashansa will build the foundation and walls ( corrugated metal for now) changeforhopeoo1.org (CFH)will provide the windows and roof and the front door. Another radio station we supported with new equipment is doing well also. This is the second station that we have supported. The local and good news is given.

I return to Nepal October 23rd for my 22nd trip and my 20th year serving Nepal. It has been a journey like no other that I am blessed to be on.

Updates when I return
