A lot of work completed but not everything is listed!

The long winding roads now are under construction and often took us 10 hrs to get to places that normally took us 5 to six.
Kalitar). This was our first trip this year and after crossing the river over 50 times in a tourist type jeep w/no seat belts, bench seats with a canvas top we managed to reach Kalitar after many bumps and water almost engulfing us.  Then we took a short hike up to the village (not the small town which is other work being done).  We laughed a lot, took our lumps and bumps and continued our service work.  Sandip, Saru, I and a few others.  We are blessed even though it was cold and cement floors are interesting to say the least in the winter time.  Everyone there is so kind to me and take care of my needs to stay safe and warm they are family in the most profound way.

Goat Purchases:  We are in the process ( March) of purchasing 4 goats of the larger quality. Poor weather kept us from doing this while I was there. One is for a Widow and 3 for a handicapped man in mountain village in Dolakha.

Humanitarian issue:

Bindiya Dangol is a 21-year-old woman with 4 children from a village in Dhading.  We heard of her as she and her husband were in Kathmandu for Kidney dialysis. Bina ( Orchid Garden Nepal) who we have supported throughout our years, l informed us of the dire condition this family was in. Sandip and I visited and decided that we could help her.  The condition of where she stayed was horrid to stay the least.  We supplied a bed, a shelving unit for pots and pans, eating utensils, metal plates, cups plus blankets, toys for the children, a gas cylinder ( she had depended on other to cook after they did on their stoves), a stove and food for a month.  Bina supplied free education and a daily meal for the children during school hours.

The husband passed away a few days after I came home on January 30th).  We supplied her all the required needs for cremation which included burial flowers, covering cloth and transportation to Pashupatinath Temple where anyone can now be cremated. We continued to help her with transportation back to the village with some funds to help with her children.

All our work is inclusive of Labor Charges, transportation charges, meals for all working on the projects ( doctors, nurses, laborers, painters etc).  Inflation is very high in Kathmandu and surrounding areas.  Gas prices have soared. We have been so blessed to have Sandip who bargains and lowers prices as much as he can in the cost of items, transportation and fees for the laborers.
