The work continues in Kalitar..

We purchased 10 goats to start a breeding program.  The men took a local bus to go the six hrs to catch the river bus.  They purchased all the supplies ( not the goats) in Makwenpur and then paid to have the supplies taken down the river via a tractor to the small city of Kalitar ( not to be confused with the village Kalitar a miles or so away).

We chose to paint the outside and re-roof one detached classroom.  During this time in Nepal, Elections are currently being held and our men were told ‘DO NOT TO ANYTHING TO THE SCHOOL ‘. The Principal was hoping political leaders would hold to their promises and do something for their rural school.

Sandip quietly told the headmaster that all the supplies were there and we would use them elsewhere if we were not allowed to do what they asked us to accomplish 3 months ago.   He gave Sandip 24 hrs before the politicians came. An impossible task without the grace needed to accomplish the task.  Sandip then made an executive decision and hired local men to help with the painting (12 in all) and he and Nabraj went to work. In 12 hours they had the painting done and the roofing done. Now it was night and hiking in swollen rivers ( mesquites buzzing everywhere) they made it back to the village to eat and then sleep on the cement floors and continue the next day planting the fruit trees.

As the morning rose, Nabraj and Sandip tirelessly planted trees.

Needless to say, I am so happy with the work we are allowed to do.  We hope to go back to the school ( we supplied computers and other educational materials in 2020) and finished the inside of the classrooms and supply them with encouraging materials to continue their educational interests.

We are blessed to say I have complete faith in my fellow laborers is a misunderstanding of the love I have for their tireless work.  I am so please and proud…..
24 trees were planted, Mango, Guava, Leechee, peach, and lemon, and one detached classroom was roofed and painted.

We will return when in October/ November to finish some of the work we started here such as painting the inside of that classroom, finishing the outside kitchen, adding a wood-burning stove, and purchasing more goats. Hopefully, we will be able to do a medical camp as well.

We also have many plans and hopes for our school in the Terai and Shree Majhi Primary School.

Please continue your prayers and support.
